NPHC Convocation

The main objective of the National Pan-Hellenic Council is to enhance the college experience, educate the member, and provide a fraternal environment for all members. Membership selection in NPHC is an individualized process that is different for each organization. To participate in the intake process with any NPHC organization, you must first attend NPHC Convocation. This event will allow you to learn more about the NPHC organizations currently active at UWA. Current NPHC Organizations- Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
The cost to participate in NPHC Convocation is $5. This cost will be used for NPHC activities. It is also encouraged to bring non-perishable items for the UWA Student Food Pantry.

Attire for Convocation: BUSINESS ATTIRE IS REQUIRED. Please refrain from wearing lounge clothes, pajama pants, shorts, casual clothing, or athletic gear. (The exception for athletic gear is if a participant is coming directly from sports practice.) Gentlemen, please wear a polo shirt and slacks, or a button up shirt and slacks. Ladies, please wear a skirt and blouse, a blouse and slacks, or a dress that does not reveal too much skin. You may wear a sweater or jacket with the dress.

It is important to present yourself in the most professional way possible as you express your interest in one of the eight NPHC organizations that will be represented that evening.
